Busy, Busy, Busy

Firstly I would like to apologize for my lack of blogging recently as I have been very busy sorting my portfolio ready for university interviews and I haven't had much spare time.  I just though that I would share with you my recent news.  I have been offered a place at the University of Huddersfield (which is the uni that I want to attend) so things are now starting to feel more real.

LCF Open day

Last Saturday I attended the open day at London College of Fashion were I was able to get a feel for the uni and the atmosphere that comes with it.  I really liked this uni and am definitely considering applying here.

Here are some photos of the buildings and some interesting architecture and graffiti that I saw.

Nottingham Trent University

Today me and my mum took a trip to Nottingham so I could go to the open day at Nottingham Trent University (http://www.ntu.ac.uk/).  While there I went to a talk about their fashion design course where I got to here about the entry requirements, what they look for in the interview, the course layout and units; then we went on a tour of the fashion design areas.

I really enjoyed the day and eventhough I already had a strong like for this uni it made me sure that I want to apply their and I was able to get a feel for the area and see how beautiful the building is (as you can see above).

A trip to London

A few weeks ago I went on a trip to London with college.  While we were here we went to the new designers exhibition and then visited Soho to look around the fabric shops and collect samples.

The new designers exhibition was showing the best from different universities all around the country and being able to see all of this work in one place really put into perspective the individuality of each student and piece of work that is created.

When we had finished at the exhibition we went to Soho and started to collect samples from the fabric shops, I found this experience really useful and it has made me more likely to visit again .

Have you visited the fabric shops in Soho?
