The first step in makeing my cape/collar piece is to cut the pattern out of fabric.
When I had done this the next step was to sew the sides and top together at first I inserted a normal seam (shown below) but when I had done this I thought back to one of the first things that we learnt which was different types of seams and remembered that when using transparent fabric the seam that I should use is a french seam so I re did them using a french seam.
Below you can see the french seam. I feel that it creates a neater and more professional effect which is what I want to create.
